About Me

I’m a 60-year-old Aspergic gardening CAD-Monkey. Sardonic, cynical and with the political leanings of a social reformer, I’m also a toy and model figure collector, particularly interested in the history of plastics and plastic toys. Other interests are history, current affairs, modern art, and architecture, gardening and natural history. I love plain chocolate, fireworks and trees, but I don’t hug them, I do hug kittens. I hate ignorance, when it can be avoided, so I hate the 'educational' establishment and pity the millions they’ve failed with teaching-to-test and rote 'learning' and I hate the short-sighted stupidity of the entire ruling/industrial elite, with their planet destroying fascism and added “buy-one-get-one-free”. Likewise, I also have no time for fools and little time for the false crap we're all supposed to pretend we haven't noticed, or the games we're supposed to play. I will 'bite the hand that feeds', to remind it why it feeds.

I is for Interstellar...Italians?

Believed to be Italian, these chaps are waiting a better ID, like a company name, or even whether they are actually from Italy! Anybody recognise them?

Hard polystyrene plastic with glued-on bases, they are a collection of spacemen and robot-looking types with a piratical air, TV related maybe and might well be premiums?

[15-02-2016 - may be Torgano, see comments, thanks Ervino!]

Hi Hugh,

the "flatty" spacemen could be a '50/'60 production of the Torgano Italian toys manufacturer, but I'm not 100% sure... :-)

Ervino...you're a star, that's what you are! Brilliant, a name is better than no name, and yes, I should have said they are a bit two-dimensional! I'll stick Torgano in the tag list!

Hi Hugh!

Well, thanks but I wish I can give you some proof of my opinion. The Torgano spacemen I'm secure of are a little bit even more flat ( http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mE5XPZV-LrimR5fD5OkjJrA.jpg as exmple), but I remeber having seen some the ones you posted in some spacemen auction and in some discussion thread on the topic, and someone said they were Torgano too...

Cheers
Ervino
