I’m a 60-year-old Aspergic gardening CAD-Monkey. Sardonic, cynical and with the political leanings of a social reformer, I’m also a toy and model figure collector, particularly interested in the history of plastics and plastic toys. Other interests are history, current affairs, modern art, and architecture, gardening and natural history. I love plain chocolate, fireworks and trees, but I don’t hug them, I do hug kittens. I hate ignorance, when it can be avoided, so I hate the 'educational' establishment and pity the millions they’ve failed with teaching-to-test and rote 'learning' and I hate the short-sighted stupidity of the entire ruling/industrial elite, with their planet destroying fascism and added “buy-one-get-one-free”. Likewise, I also have no time for fools and little time for the false crap we're all supposed to pretend we haven't noticed, or the games we're supposed to play. I will 'bite the hand that feeds', to remind it why it feeds.

T is for Two - Renwal Dimestore Automobiles

A quickie now, approximately 1:48th, proper 'Dimestore' from Renwal and a rather insipid yellow, that's not the US 1950's taxi colour either! The seller (years ago) actually had several of them including some better-coloured ones, but I had limited funds and took these two because one had a figure (small-scale figure!) and the other was a consecutively numbered 'hard top' version of the first!

Posed passing the Kilgore 'space-car' heading the other way and parked-up next to each other I'm assuming they were 103 and -4 respectively in the Renwal catalogue? I'f I remember my though process at the time, another reason I bought these two was that they had paint which most of the others didn't?

The, colour wasn't conducive to photographing the marking (in the engine-bay) but you can see the simple construction and the fact that they were very definitely 10¢! The silver is stenciled with a spray-gun, but the brown has been hand-applied, in a rush, by someone who knows it will be sold for ten cents!

That's it; two Renwal Dimestore automobiles.
