About Me

I’m a 60-year-old Aspergic gardening CAD-Monkey. Sardonic, cynical and with the political leanings of a social reformer, I’m also a toy and model figure collector, particularly interested in the history of plastics and plastic toys. Other interests are history, current affairs, modern art, and architecture, gardening and natural history. I love plain chocolate, fireworks and trees, but I don’t hug them, I do hug kittens. I hate ignorance, when it can be avoided, so I hate the 'educational' establishment and pity the millions they’ve failed with teaching-to-test and rote 'learning' and I hate the short-sighted stupidity of the entire ruling/industrial elite, with their planet destroying fascism and added “buy-one-get-one-free”. Likewise, I also have no time for fools and little time for the false crap we're all supposed to pretend we haven't noticed, or the games we're supposed to play. I will 'bite the hand that feeds', to remind it why it feeds.

News, Views Etc . . . Airfix Russian Comparisons

I have posted some small-scale figures Chris Smith sent me straight to the relevant Airfix pages on that Blog, being the older WWII Russian Infantry and the later Modern Russians.

01717; 01717 from 2001 to 2007; 01717-4; 1/76 scale; 1960's; 1964 to 1972; 1973 to 1982; 1980's; 1983; 1984 to 1985; 1:72nd; 1:76th; 2013; 20mm Figures; 25mm Toy Figures; 9 01717 in 1983; 9-01760; A01717; Airfix 1:72nd Scale; Airfix Model Figures; Airfix Toy Soldiers; Early 1980's; Germany; HO - OO Figures; Kit Number 1016; Kit Number 6016; Modern Russians; MPC 6016; MPC 6021; MPC USA; Plasty; Plasty 1016; Plasty Germany; Russian Infantry; Russian Toy Soldiers; S17; Small Scale World; smallscaleworld.blogspot.com;
The figures were purchased from Hungary, so may be of Hungarian origin (especially with those helmets?) rather than Russian, and they look more 'generic' G.I. or NATO than anything I saw on my Soviet Studies course back in 1988!
