About Me

My photo
No Fixed Abode, Home Counties, United Kingdom
I’m a 60-year-old Aspergic gardening CAD-Monkey. Sardonic, cynical and with the political leanings of a social reformer, I’m also a toy and model figure collector, particularly interested in the history of plastics and plastic toys. Other interests are history, current affairs, modern art, and architecture, gardening and natural history. I love plain chocolate, fireworks and trees, but I don’t hug them, I do hug kittens. I hate ignorance, when it can be avoided, so I hate the 'educational' establishment and pity the millions they’ve failed with teaching-to-test and rote 'learning' and I hate the short-sighted stupidity of the entire ruling/industrial elite, with their planet destroying fascism and added “buy-one-get-one-free”. Likewise, I also have no time for fools and little time for the false crap we're all supposed to pretend we haven't noticed, or the games we're supposed to play. I will 'bite the hand that feeds', to remind it why it feeds.

News, Views Etc . . . Forthcoming Events

Well . . . here we are, look - half way through the month already, as 2019 speeds past with the same rapidity as 2018, giving us even more nonsense from the Trumpundbrexit community; you couldn't make it up, because if you did, no-one would buy the book - you need a plot that's believable, and nothing happening in Whitehall or Washington at the moment can be believed - even when you see it with your own eyes on the news!

Thanks to Canada for taking that Saudi girl.

Did anyone notice that by 'sculpting' the slices, Terry's (they're not Terry's they're Caramber and Co.!) chocolate orange's lost-weight this Christmas? But they weren't any cheaper!

Still; there's always toys . . . vintage toys; you can't go wrong with vintage toys!

Tom Clague sent me a link to a brilliant new set of figures from Modelscene - 5300 Cricket Players! Given how few cricketers there are out there - in any scale - these are a much needed addition to the oeuvre, although it got me thinking that there are probably some garage/after-market whitemetal ones out there somewhere . . . anyone know of other cricketers? And the 1st-link is a 'must' to follow - it's all Tom's own work!
