I’m a 60-year-old Aspergic gardening CAD-Monkey. Sardonic, cynical and with the political leanings of a social reformer, I’m also a toy and model figure collector, particularly interested in the history of plastics and plastic toys. Other interests are history, current affairs, modern art, and architecture, gardening and natural history. I love plain chocolate, fireworks and trees, but I don’t hug them, I do hug kittens. I hate ignorance, when it can be avoided, so I hate the 'educational' establishment and pity the millions they’ve failed with teaching-to-test and rote 'learning' and I hate the short-sighted stupidity of the entire ruling/industrial elite, with their planet destroying fascism and added “buy-one-get-one-free”. Likewise, I also have no time for fools and little time for the false crap we're all supposed to pretend we haven't noticed, or the games we're supposed to play. I will 'bite the hand that feeds', to remind it why it feeds.

Mirror - New York

From the locations of the MB stores I'm assuming this is a New York paper, and I think the tatty bit (long since trimmed-off; in the days before digital) stated "Mirror" or it wouldn't be in the notes, but whether in was 'New York Mirror' or just Mirror (or something else-mirror) I can't recall and the note isn't clear - my bad!

The San●Toy Land refers to the - missing - ad' above I think?

New York Daily Mirror. The paper ended in the 60's and the stores were long gone by 1974 when I arrived in NYC. In fact by 1974 the Marx sets didn't seem to be in NYC store toy departments at all. Plastic seemed to have been replaced by sets of diecssts with odd small plastic figures.

Cheers Terra! I thought there must be a reason for my writing the note but forgot why! Most of the stuff this lot came from from is early 50's, but there is a little from the '40's and some from the 60's, but it'll take years to sort out!
