You have to subscribe to read the whole
thing, so I bought a paper copy, he would have approved - the Internet was a dark-art! I'll do something on the first anniversary maybe, when I've better got my head round it all.
*******************************
The one thing we are all promised at the
moment of our conception, the only thing . . . is a last breath, and the sooner
the two orange loon-clowns of Anglo-Saxon 'civilization' breathe theirs; the
better for the whole bloody planet!
Every time you think our long political/cultural
suicide can't get any worse, you get something like the last five days, and
sure enough, by Thursday the entire (Tory) media had decided that the problem really
was actually anti-Semitism in the Labour party and not the appallingly
childish and dangerous behavior of Trump or Johnson, the leak, the failures in
our security behind the leak, the identity or motives of the leaker, nor - even
- the [private] opinion of our Ambassador; which only confirms what every-other
columnist has already pointed-out, even most of the WASP ones - that the
Whitehouse is an internecine kindergarten in meltdown!
Donald says Boris is great! They're
biggly-besties! But how long do you think it would take the transatlantic
bottom-burp to start slagging-off our own orange-loon, on twitsphear, once 'Bo-Jo's
in power? After all; he's no Putin or Kim, he's no Erdogan or Netanyahu . . .
or - at least - we hope he doesn't prove to be . . . he's just a pretentious,
privileged, needy product of Eaton (and not the first) with the commensurate
sense of entitlement, he IS the swamp!
Meanwhile we are all supposed to just carry
on as if it's all perfectly normal?
Carry-on buying old toys; there lays a
small-sanity . . . getting a bit quieter here for the summer, but apparently
picking-up in the antipodes (two this week!), where it's a non-Christmas
'winter season'!

The same comments apply as last week
vis-à-vis local stuff and air-shows, I'm listing one this weekend (RNAS Yeovilton) but there must be

I got excited-enough when I first saw these
to sit-up and pay attention, then saw the jointed arms and realised they are
probably 'action-figure' types in a largish size, and beyond the scope of my
collection, but they may appeal to some of you.

H is for How They Come In
Very little this week but I've been almost
abroad, indeed; technically, and due to fog off Cap de l'Hargue I've been
to two 'sovereign nations' this week, if not actually countries!
Still managed to pick-up a couple more Chap Mai's; first M1 Abrams and a second
M1/M2 MICV/ACAV-hybrid (with tank gun!), along with a Zuru-marked Thor - losing his temper - which is a smaller scale
than the current'ish capsule-toy set we've seen here at SSW before, so maybe an
earlier iteration, or the very-latest set?
Now that I have three AFV's from Chap Mai
(I'm not looking for the larger Hercules/Atlas, Chinook or aircraft carrier
play set/toys they accompany), I can also report that the scale differs quite a
bit with the Land-Rover around 1:60th, the 'Bradley' coming-in at 1:78/80th or
thereabouts and the M1 tank probably closer to 1:100th. I think there's still a
Hummer to track-down).
Also, by the time you read this I should
have another bag of those Gogo Crazy
Bones, but they will probably be pushed straight-through to post/queue over
the weekend?

Other News
Saved!
Shot this a few hours ago, it had actually
got stuck in the roof of the summer-room (posh name for a Meccano-framed plastic-paneled self-build) and was in danger of
cooking itself, I managed to get it out with a long pice of flexible tubing,
but it then decided I must be its own personal Deus Mirabilis and
wouldn't get off my arm, eventually though, I coxed it into the bull-rush! I
have a whole bunch of shots from Alderney which I'll try to remember to do as a
separate post.
Divider
I hope you got it this week, I thought it
was a cut above the usual repeat symmetries; the heavens, from the left - The
Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth (w.Moon), Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune,
Pluto and little Charon, but I think I can do better with more time, so I'll have another go sometime!
