About Me

I’m a 60-year-old Aspergic gardening CAD-Monkey. Sardonic, cynical and with the political leanings of a social reformer, I’m also a toy and model figure collector, particularly interested in the history of plastics and plastic toys. Other interests are history, current affairs, modern art, and architecture, gardening and natural history. I love plain chocolate, fireworks and trees, but I don’t hug them, I do hug kittens. I hate ignorance, when it can be avoided, so I hate the 'educational' establishment and pity the millions they’ve failed with teaching-to-test and rote 'learning' and I hate the short-sighted stupidity of the entire ruling/industrial elite, with their planet destroying fascism and added “buy-one-get-one-free”. Likewise, I also have no time for fools and little time for the false crap we're all supposed to pretend we haven't noticed, or the games we're supposed to play. I will 'bite the hand that feeds', to remind it why it feeds.

A is for Assorted . . .

. . . key-rings, or fobs, or chains, or charms, whatever your chosen term for them is!

You may remember back in the summer we had a post on insects, with the snail cropped-out of this collective-shot, well; here are all of them.

Again (see yesterday's comment on Doric) a bulk-buy - I'm a tight-arse on a low income - of reduced stock; three of them were unmarked and as I said earlier in the year - may turn-out to be from a more recognised range of toys, just 'converted' to key-rings with a screw-eye.

The forth is branded to (and if you'd told me back at the start of the blog I'd have been adding it to the tag list I wouldn't have believed you!) Fizzy Moon! A devil-bear; I should have got him into the Halloween posts? Why didn't I? Fuckwitt!

3 is for "On the Third Day of Chrissssstmaaas, His True Love Sent to Hiiiiiiimmm...."

[Are you ahead of me here?] Another Snowman!

Ok, ok...three snowmen is not excessive and they can now have proper conversations, in the meantime the driver and him got the unloading down to 15 minutes so the driver had time for the offered coffee and bit of a chat - while the snowmen got acquainted!

As yesterday! Different poses!

C is for Charben's Chaps in Ckhaki!

Some hollow-cast lot I shot on Adrian's stall about three years ago with half a mind on the Khaki Infantry page (they're the wrong poses) and half-a mind on a comparison with the plastics in storage, obviously the storage ones are still there, which I didn't think they would still be now, several years ago, so let's look at them 'as is'.

More poses than the plastics and the MG has the toy-like addition of a novelty matchstick-firing mechanism. With three headdress types to collect and various plastic paint-versions, these Carbens combat types would make a nice sub-collection/display.

2 is for "On the Second Day of Chrissssstmaaas, His True Love Sent to Hiiiiiiimmm . . .

 . . .A'errrrr.....'nother Snow'ho-maaaaan!"

Well, he guessed she wanted them to keep each other company, like he said 'quirky', and the driver and him got the unloading down to 17 minutes!

Today's Snowman is another blistered one from Doric (bulk-buy from the bargain-bin in a corner-shop!) this time a styrene (or very dense ethylene) one - with his hat intact!

C is for Captain; Charlie Chalk's Captain Mildred!

Totally escaped me - I think I was in Germany, here's the Wikipedia page if you give a toss! She was something in that!

Late 1980's pencil topper, but; while cartoony, she'd paint-up as a very good clown for your Crescent/Kellogg's Circus, I think?
