About Me

I’m a 60-year-old Aspergic gardening CAD-Monkey. Sardonic, cynical and with the political leanings of a social reformer, I’m also a toy and model figure collector, particularly interested in the history of plastics and plastic toys. Other interests are history, current affairs, modern art, and architecture, gardening and natural history. I love plain chocolate, fireworks and trees, but I don’t hug them, I do hug kittens. I hate ignorance, when it can be avoided, so I hate the 'educational' establishment and pity the millions they’ve failed with teaching-to-test and rote 'learning' and I hate the short-sighted stupidity of the entire ruling/industrial elite, with their planet destroying fascism and added “buy-one-get-one-free”. Likewise, I also have no time for fools and little time for the false crap we're all supposed to pretend we haven't noticed, or the games we're supposed to play. I will 'bite the hand that feeds', to remind it why it feeds.

News, Views Etc . . . Toy Fair 2020! (Timely Manner!)

I'm not there 'till tomorrow, and will post my reports as a low-priority and as I see fit, but already the feedback cometh forth like a veritable cornucopia of up-to-the-minute news, views and PR-blurb for those who can't wait a few day, weeks or even months for stuff which will be on shelves for the next year or two!

"Today was the very first day of Toy Fair 2020! We’re sorry you couldn’t be with us today, as we rung in a whole new decade for Toy Fair. Here’s everything you missed…

Toys, toys, and even more toys! Thousands of toys made their debut at Toy Fair 2020, with more than 260 exhibiting companies out on the show floor. Hundreds of journalists from newspapers, broadcasters, and radio flocked to Toy Fair to get hands-on with the launches and meet the people behind them. We were delighted to host the likes of BBC News, The Sun, The Guardian, Daily Mirror, Associated Press, BBC 5 Live, and more.
This morning, the BTHA opened the show with an overview of industry performance going into the new year. Andrew Laughton, BTHA chairman, Frederique Tutt, analyst from The NPD Group and Nick Richardson, CEO of Kids Insights, joined a special panel on Toy Fair TV to discuss these important figures.
This morning, the BTHA also announced the winners of Toy Fair’s Hero Toys. These 25 toys, selected by a panel of independent retailers and industry experts, showcase the most innovative and exciting launches at Toy Fair 2020. Featuring entries from Character Options, Hasbro and Spin Master, the toys are on display outside the press office and are the ideal place to start any visit to Toy Fair. We also had visits from TV personalities Nadiya Hussain and Steven Mulhern who was launching his new game.
There’s just too much to talk about – and there’s even more to come! Tomorrow, Toy Fair will be buzzing with our very first Influencer Day. With more and more influencers and content creators attending the show, our new Influencer Day is a one-stop shop to get hands-on with our exhibitors’ creations. With many influential toy bloggers and YouTubers signed up to attend, it’s set to be a corker!
We’ll have all the latest and greatest toys on the show floor, as well as exclusive offers from exhibitors such as Coiledspring Games, Gibsons, Zimpli Kids, Wildcard Games plus lots more. Doors open tomorrow at 9am, and close at 6pm.
Don’t miss out – we’ll see you there!
